Good faith act?!?
I reported a neighbor for child abuse, but the case worker said they were "baseless accusations" after "investigating," even though I have seen the abuse happen with my own eyes and in the same room with me. Now the mother is saying she's going to get a judge to supena (sp?) the report and find out who called. I didn't leave my name, but what if they trace my cell phone? Can I really be sued? A Kentucky website says reporters are protected as long as they reported in good faith, but names can be released to a judge.
I wasn't harassing the mother (even though we have never gotten along). I was trying to help save two innocent kids from physical/emotional abuse. All I want is for the abuse to stop, for the kids to be in a loving home. Why should I be the one getting in trouble and not her? Should I really be as worried as I am? Any information concerning this matter would be appreciated. :-(

as long as you where acting in good faith of the children an you have witness's that will back your allegations of abuse you are in the good. The mother probrablly suspects someone in the area an is attempting to get a reaction from whoever she suspects as being the informant. what she doesnt know is that if she is reported for alleged child abuse if it wasnt done as a malicous act there aint a dang thing she can do about it.
now for the real important stuff the children involved
if it is physical abuse i already know that gettin proof may prove hard to get unless this woman is backhandin her children to the ground in public otherwise you will have tyo obtain proof in let us say less than honorable ways
tape/video recordings video having the most weight in a court of law if you chose to go down this road you will want a lawyers advice from your state that you are in so they can make the proper documentation an notations that you as a private citizen is/are doing an investagation into said person for reasons of child abuse
you just better make real sure you are doing whats best for the children an that they are in fact suffering from child abuse an not from what can be called bad parenting
I would be highly surprised if mom ever got her hands on the report. And, even if she did, I doubt your cell number would be on it.
You don't have kids, do you?
Don't answer that. It was a rhetorical question.
If the case worker thinks it was baseless, then sorry, but you really probably are overreacting. Bringing up kids is hard. Give the woman some credit where credit is due and leave her alone.
the report will not have full disclosure, and that is if she can actually get it. There is little chance that you name would even be on it, let alone any of your personal information.

maybe your definition of "abuse" is different than the states...some people spank their kids...some people think spanking kids is horrific...both have the right to have their views...abuse is something more serious...usually bruises or whelps...
If you made a anomyse call then you have nothing to worry about. Even if they trace the call you made a anomyse call there is no reason why you should be supena'd into court if you are though then they have just broke the confidentiality between you and the childprotection agency. They can not sue you. But if they violate the confidentiality between you and the aganey then you may be able to proceded with legal actions agenst them. Look deep in to your heart and you know that you didn't do any thing wrong you were trying to protect the children from being harmed. You did the right thing.
Don't worry, those are useless threats of a pissed off person that will never be carried out. They are boasts because she was caught.
I feel really bad for these children. I would have done the same thing if i were u.
U will not be sued for reporting her. The police may trace u from ur cell phone but they will not disclose this information to her. I am quite sure abt this.
I appreciate u for taking the time to report these monsters.
