Just got scammed through internet.?

Anyways, a friend of mine have been scammed through the internet local listing: craigslist.org. She was offered $300 in a money order for an iPod Nano. She asked me for assistance in shipping the product, but I told her she should get the money first or use an escrow service. I delayed too long and she sent it out herself, she had a spoofed email from USPS of a money order being shipped to her house, a day later she has shipped it off to Nigeria. The scammer told her that she was from Arizona and wanted a package shipped to her schooling son in Nigeria. So my friend the victim, sent the iPod via express after receiving the spoofed email of money order. I have the scammer's email, and server from where she spoofed the email, as well as the nigerian address. Right now the scammer emailed her and asked for an additional 300$ because she branded 400$ extra to money order, or some bs, spoofed again. Is there anything I can do to track down this scammer and compensate for my friends lost?

Answers:
This is one of the most common internet scams. Unfortunately, there's nothing that can be done to get the money back.

Because the scam is based in Nigeria, and the money was sent there, you can't do anything. The police in Nigeria won't do anything to help you. NEVER REPLY TO ANYTHING FROM NIGERIA!
Good luck..They caught some scammers in Nigeria on Dateline and those people can't even be proscuted!! Tell your friend..she is out her money.
I know Dateline NBC was doing a story on this sometime back. I would try forwarding your story to them.

Good luck!
