Should extremely unethical behavior in government be treated as a crime?

I'm referring to the unethical actions of the Bush administration and his minions.example being Alberto Gonzales's testimony, when he "couldn't recall" anything..this is extremely unethical behavior, even if you are a supporter of Bush, you have to admit its very unethical behavior.

Where do we draw the line? Can we draw the line? How do we as citizens deal with such unethical behavior? Besides a loss in credibility, are there any direct actions that we should be entitled to when faced with such extreme unethical behavior from politicians?

Answers:
If the US Attorney General cannot testify honestly, what kind of example is that to anyone who is compelled to testify; that it is alright to not remember, when you do not want to disclose the truth?

The Bush Administration has never been honest with the American public; all we can do is vote Democrat in the 2008 elections.
Yeah its called impeachment.
And about your example, theres such a thing as classified information you know and he was saying "screw you I'm not telling" in a nice way
You have to understand the United States is not a democracy any more. We have a president that is a dictator and can dictate and do what ever he wants to do.
Do you consider adultery and perjury to be unethical? Or is it just the Bush admnistration you have a problem with?
Do you want us to laugh? Ethics and government! Can you not see the two are opposite? Always were! And who do you mean by "we"? If you mean plain citizens, then "we" can do nothing but shut up and follow those who manufacture laws at their will, did you not know? Ethics is one thing, and laws another - often quite opposite. Ethics... what politician cares? It must be very nice to stay so naïve at your age. I envy you!
How is it unethical to not remember something?

Now, it's unethical to lie about something under oath - just ask BJ Clinton.

There is no ethical issue with Gonzales. He was appointed Attorney General and he reviewed the US Attorneys he is to preside over - all of them politcal appointments made by George W Bush who can be fired at any time for failure to live up to expectations.

Gonzales was right to review his US Attorneys and let go those who were not perfoming up to his high standards.

Clinton fired all the US Attorneys when he was elected President and replaced them with people he appointed. Bush did the same. This is a common practice, and these administrations should certainly review their job performance and replace them if they are not performing up to standards.

Another pointless smear tactic by the left, and many Americans are too dumb to realize that nothing unethical was done.
