A question regarding bail and prison time?
Imagine somebody is arrested and imprisoned, but a friend bails them out of prison after a day of him being in prison.
Now imagine that he did not get bailed out after a day of being in prison. How long can he be imprisoned like that for something like, say, petty theft? If it varies, then what kind of length of time are we talking about?
