i got an accident at work about a month ago. about two weeks after the accident i got a call and a letter from gallagher bassett services. they said they would pay any medical treatment for my injury. i wanna know who is gallagher bassett services? how did they find out about my accident? i tried to call the person who (she said) was handling my claim, but i couldn't reach her. now i need further treatment for my injury. can someone please explain to me the process of workers compensation? i really have no idea how it works. thanks

workers comp is one of the deductions from youre paycheck and is paid to u by the state from money you pay in. if you google workers comp with the state ur in it will give the number for the comp board.
gallagher bassett is a claims management service. If they werent hired by your employer then they really need to explain their relationship to you. ask your employer if they know who they are. workers comp is a form of insuranc you pay for out of your pay

I recommend that you contact your state insurance commissioner's office. That's who handles it in my state, WV. You can also contact your representatives in the U.S. Congress either Senator or the Rep. for your district. They have caseworkers who are there to help you. Don't be afraid to ask for help. It doesn't matter if you agree with them politically either. They're there for you. I used to direct people for help all the time when I worked for a Senator.
