TV's in Prison!!?!?!?!?
I am watching Kathy Griffin life on the D-List
and saw that the inmates there had TV's in PRISON not jail PRISON they were playing cards and they didn't have acutal cells just bunk beds.
I've also heard that they can get a college degree while in some prisons.
who else thinks that this is MESSED UP
EVEN IF our taxes weren't funding it I still thinks its messed up

The college degrees is was upsets me the most. I've never applied for a job that didn't check my criminal history so what good is it going to do to have a degree with a felony history? These ppl commit crimes and yet walk out with degrees that we pay for. Meanwhile, most ppl struggling thru college have to deal with everyday stresses of jobs, kids and school work and most ppl do it without the joys of cable tv. I'm tired of hearing how criminals have right! What rights did their victims have? Ppl r in prison for a reason. Ohhh..that's right, they're there to get a college education.
Well I don't know if they should all be killed, but they should have to work for every thing they get from the roof over there beds to the food they eat, every little bit of it should be earned with labor.
Do prisoner have to pay room and board?
Yup, they get Cable TV at that. They also get a FREE education, FREE health care, better gym equipment than I get to use at my athletic club, and a whole bunch of other FREE benefits. I think it's crap, but it's true.
Well, if I ever get out of shape, or hungry or homeless, I guess I better commit a really good crime.
If I ever run for president, I want you to be my running mate. I have a "hit list" perhaps we should compare notes?
Not that I am for coddling criminals, but not everyone is a hardened killer in maximum security prison. What about that NBA referee? He is going to need a new way to support himself when he gets out. People with brains need skills to support themselves when they get out. As for TVs, if the inmates weren't watching OZ on HBO, they might be playing it out. It cannot be easy keeping men incarcerated for long periods occupied. The alternatives are violence and training for more criminality. For those prisoners who do commit violence in prison, super max facilities like Pelican Bay in Northern California offer nothing but bars for 23 hours a day.
