Article 15
Summary-Every child has the right to meet people and to be outside in a group.
Article
1. States Parties recognize the rights of the child to freedom of association and to freedom of peaceful assembly.
2. Does this mean my mum can't stop me from going to the cinema for my friends birthday? If she can stop me, please explain why.
Answers:
She can stop you.
The Human rights and fundamental freedoms could generally be enforced only against state.
That means, your country cannot restrict you to go for cinema or birthday party. But your mother is at liberty to stop you. Your rights are based on your national laws which protect you against your parents. International human rights mandate countries to make laws to enforce your safety. It depends on which part of world you live!
No, it does not limit her rights to parent you as she sees fit. Additionally, the "UN Convention of the Rights of the Child" does not carry the force of law.
Sorry, nobobdy pays any attention to the useless UN.
she's your mother..in the US you don't have any rights until you're 18
