Does anyone know what "larceny-free text" means exactly?

a friends son was charged with this, he wont tell her, and i cant find out...any help would be appreciated!! thanks
Answer:   It's larceny (free text).

The four digit National Crime Information Center (NCIC) offense codes are often used in reporting crime at the national level.

A common problem with attempting to convert state statutes to NCIC codes is that many of the states' statutes describe behavior which does not fit neatly into the established NCIC codes.

As a result many states are forced to use the "free text" category for many offenses.
That would be a text without larceny, larceny defined as "the wrongful taking and carrying away of the personal goods of another from his or her possession with intent to convert them to the taker's own use."
