Car manufacturers must keep spare parts for their vehicles for 10 years (federal law)?

Is this true? For example, Chrysler can't tell you they don't make spoilers for 05 crossfire's any more?

Answers:
Quit whinnin'.go find something aftermarket...
chances are thats why they dont carry an optional item anyway.....and where'd you get 10 yrs from?.....
Yes it used to be true, but I think it was overturned a few years back. Car makers complained that parts inventory was killing their bottom line.
For Germany, yes. If that model was sold in Germany you should be able to get one there (and German import prices.)
I think 1. Rover-Rotura Otra Vez Envia Recambios-(copyright loujazzrock.)means in spanish-broken again send spares, and 2. Fiat-(Fix It Again Tony)should make 300 years worth of spares for the10 year period after they stop making that model!
