If people that molest our children and plan terrorist attacks can get socialized medicine in the USA?
...Why can't I have it??
The guy in the federal prison system that has proven that he can't live or function in normal society to such a degree that he'll never contribute to it in a positive way gets all his needs taken care of.
many of the prisoners at Gitmo aren't terrorists...but some are. These people that would kill the children of the "Great Satan" (USA) by the millions if they could? THEY get taken care of with the best we have to offer. They get preventative MRIs for heaven's sake.
If THESE people get it and it's fine, why is government sponsored, single-payer care bad for me? Someone who contributes. Someone who is a decent person and has never purposely harmed another, why do I (or you) deserve less than these people?

Not true. There are THOUSANDS of cases every year brought by prisoners who claim that they get inadequate medical care. Many are meritorious. And the standard provided is not "the best we have to offer" but just barely acceptable medically. Medical care in most jails and prisons is pretty much a joke.
(2) But without the allegory, your point is well taken. The only counterargument is that when we confine people, and take away their freedom and their choice to make (or not to make) money, we have a responsibility not to treat them (worse than) animals and let them suffer with disease or in pain. To do so would violate the 8th Amendment and simply be inhuman. Societies are not judged how they treat the best people, but how the worst are treated.
But, nonetheless I agree that something should be done.
Because the government isn't concerned with how you are doing, it's concerned with making sure red cross and amnesty international are happy about the way foreigners are treated.
1st of all; is it child molesters are terrorists or terrorists are child molesters? I never could get that straight. In any case dude, you ne gettin' some bad info! Prisoners pay for their medical & dental care, that is if they can even get any. It's bad and you may wait months to years on a waiting list, and you pay! You pay for your underwear, shirts, pants socks, shoes, sneakers, toothpaste, soap; everything you seem to think is free. And those free meals; not very good. Imagine some inmate scrapping the grill with the same scraper he cleans the floors with, wackin' off in the food, and getting diahria a couple times a month. Sound yummy? That top of the line food you hear about never makes it to the tables. Everyone has their hands out and it's the inmates families who pay!
By the way, it's estimated that up to 50% of US inmates are actually innocent. Most cases are plea bargained because they can't afford a lawyer. Get a Public Defender? you won't see him until just before they bring you into the courtroom. Yeah, it's a great life. Try it!
Get over yourself!
Your President has said over and over to take care of your own self, and stop whining about how the government will take care of you. He believes you are able to take care of your family with your own means and faith.
Pony up, and start praying.
