2nd California DUI Offense Within 8 years?

Before I start, please save the judgemental responses. I know what I did was wrong, am prepared to face the music, and am thankful that no one was hurt.

I believe that I am looking at the following. Can anyone confirm?

1) 96 Hours jail time (or weekend work)
2) ~$1250 fine from court
3) 18 month driving course (and associated costs)
4) 2 years loss of license, and after 1 year possible put breathalyzer on car and restricted license

Also, can anyone tell me if I might be able to get a license for driving to work only during the course of the suspension?

Is there any value in retaining a lawyer if my case is pretty much "cut and dried"?

Thanks-

Dude! Of course get a lawyer! First of cut and dried or not it will piss off the judge if you don't have one. It will look like you are not really taking it seriously. Kind of like "yea, I am guilty" instead of hiring a lawyer because this is going to screw up my life for years. The judge will just hand you the maximums as he does not have to deal w. a lawyer... he then will have more time to consider the cases where people have one. Its hard to explain but get the lawyer as it will save you thousands down the road.

What you get depends on many things. How long ago was the last one and what was ordered before. Even if you were butt wasted a lawyer can do things. Continue the court case for one. In the interim you could attend AA. In my state there is the short driving course that costs little and the long one which costs a bundle. But in my state you can do it voluntarily before court.

A lawyer regardless can do and suggest many things. Plus deal w. a prosecutor. This could cost you far more or could be worked out so things are better. Whatever you have to do.. get a lawyer.
My friend I think u should quit drinking and turn to meth or cocaine. Much healthier for you
That sounds about right. I would still talk to a lawyer since you may be able to get some of that reduced and if you are seeking a permit to drive to and from work (it will help!).

Best of luck.hang in there!
