Is it illegal for someone to threaten a minor?
I was just wondering because it happened to my friends and I the other day and we weren't sure if it was legal or not.

It isn't legal to threaten anyone...if it is credible threat. Which simply means that you actually expect them to act on the threat. In most cases it is called assault (no assault isn't beating someone up that is battery).

If the threat was something like, "If you throw rocks in my yard one more time, I'm going to spank you!" then it's legal.
It depends on what kind of threat it was. It doesn't really matter whether you're a minor or not though.
If your friend was acting like a disrespectful Punk then 98% of us say it is legal. As a matter of fact when I was a kid and acted out, I got my azz beat and it wasn't just by my parents. This is why our country is in trouble. The Generation X, button pushing, crybabies like you are coming of age. God Help Us all.
Not if the minor is being a complete idiot and deserves it. When I threaten a minor I always follow up that threat by offering the same to the minors legal guardian or parent. Those that are legally responsible for the minors should be put away until they get control or relinquish control to the state for that minor!
